From a Window Seat
This week's post is a bit on the shorter side (and a day late), as it's been chock-full of great, albeit time-consuming, endeavors. I took on the generally daunting task of migrating to a new MacBook. It's a chore, sure, but it's also a welcome refresh, and a sort of digital spring cleaning.
On top of that, it's been a hustling period at work. The kind of busy that's invigorating, but also all-consuming. Consequently, my camera's been gathering a bit too much dust for my liking. However, that's about to change.
Later this week, I'm off to Pittsburgh with my son for a college visit. It's a significant step for him and a proud moment for me. I'm looking forward to capturing the vibe of the city and the campus.
Following that, I'll be in Las Vegas to fulfill a wish for my son. As always, I'm eager to return to LV and see how the city's vibrant lights and energetic streets inspire my photography.
So, while this week may have been light on the shutter clicks, the next couple should make up for it. Until my next post, enjoy your week, keep an eye out for those unexpected moments worth capturing, and enjoy a few photos from the office window.

Building Muscle Memory
Great news: I'm brimming with ideas for this site's potential. The slight hitch? Many of these concepts are pretty grand in scale. So, instead of shoehorning them into a format that doesn't do justice, I'm sticking to my guns. Tuesdays remain our sacred publishing day. But here's the twist: I'm also fine-tuning the rollout plan for the bigger projects.
What does this mean for you? Well, to get into the groove of consistently sharing photos here, I'll be peppering in posts featuring snapshots I've taken recently. Consider this post a taste of that - a glimpse into my week, if you will. Hope it adds a bit of flair to your day!
To give you a clearer picture of the more extensive content I'm planning to share, here are some ideas I've been mulling over. Each of these could unfold over several posts. I'm all ears for your thoughts, so feel free to drop your preferences in the comments or shoot me a message through the contact form. If there's something else you're itching to see, let me know!

W09: Quick hits from the past week
I haven’t really felt like engaging on social media lately, but I am definitely still out there shooting. Here is a batch from the past week. Mostly random and autumnal.
Otherwise, I did finally get around to purchasing a great photo printer. I’m not sure why I waited so long to get one because it has been by far the best photographic purchase that I’ve made in a while. I plan on writing a post here about it sometime soon.
Oh, I’ve also been switching my note-taking workflow to Notion. As a person who is constantly on the lookout for better ways to organize my life, Notion has been a delightfully fresh application. I recommend checking it out.
W08: Another World
My headspace is a bit off lately. Over the past two weeks, we lost a dear family member. And while it has been difficult processing the loss for myself, it has been more difficult for me to watch our boys process the loss — as I believe this is the first death that has really connected for them. Mortality and all that…
Understandably, I’m finding myself more introspective than usual, but with that comes a bit of listlessness. So, here we are. A few photos from the week. If I were to analyze the subjects, I’d say that I am pulling inward, getting close and focusing on the details. I’m OK with that.
All shots were taken in the back yard, but I can’t help but feel like I’m in another world.
W07: Retreat
This week was filled with a few significant ups and downs personally. I often find that retreating to nature is one of the best ways for me to gather my thoughts, renew my spirit and push on. In that way, this week was no different.
W05: Minimally Monochrome
Not much going on this week. My favorite four month stretch is here and the weather is changing. So, while I wait for the autumn colors to burst forth, let’s spend some time with some monochromatic photography.
W04: let's shoot a race again!
This week was a blast! I was invited to shoot the Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon by my good friends Ron Heerkens Jr. and Ian Golden at Red Newt Racing. This is the fifth time that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this race and as usual the event was SO MUCH FUN.
The early morning drive to Ithaca provided some beautiful sunrise opportunities and throughout the day you couldn’t have asked for better weather to run (or photograph) a race.
Here are a few of my favorites from the day…with a bonus few from my post-race trip to the top of Taughannock Falls.
W01: Introducing Weeklies
Weeklies are going to be a way for me to share what I have created over the course of any given week. I plan on releasing an update every Monday and I hope that they will simultaneously inspire me to get out and create something more often, as well as allow me to share something that you might enjoy. To that end, I’d love to hear from you on a regular basis. Cheers!
